Poke is meant to be a healthy, simple food enhanced by complementary flavors. It isn’t meant to be a concoction of overwhelming spices, random vegetables, and a few cubes of raw fish.
As some really famous dude once said: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.
When our founders got together and launched the Mola Mola idea, sustainability was one of the topics that kept surfacing.
We wanted to share poke with the world, but tuna and salmon stocks were under heavy pressure meaning prices for you would keep going up, and fish stocks would keep going down.
The only solution we have for this problem is to:
- Seek high quality, sustainable fish no matter the cost
- Find new types of fish that are just as delicious but with healthy populations
We are proud to partner with vendors like Wildfish Direct to source from the most sustainable populations of fish. We’re also proud to offer great tasting seafood not found in other poke shops like Bora and Baby Octopus.
Our management is also very careful when it comes to reducing energy costs, using biodegradable, recycled materials, and other environmentally friendly processes. We believe every little bit helps.
